Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying protection systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets attacked the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were hurt.

The strikes come after periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

He said utility staff and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
